Just received my next project in the mail
A Remington UMC whittler with MOP missing on one side. I just took it apart to assess the overall condition

The main blade is 95% full. Secondary blade is 85% almost all wear at tip. The file is fine. All three blades are stained almost like they were Blued at some point.
I may have to see how blueing would look contrasted to MOP.

Just found a pleasant surprise. The etching is still on the main blade. Now how would I go about cleaning the blade without wrecking the etching.

Don't, that's usually the best course of action when you want to retain an etch.

Thanks. I will leave it alone.
