All About Pocket Knives

I guess technically this isn't a knife but it's quite knife like and I wanted to put it in this sub forum for old Sheffield.

"Other sharp Objects" can be a lot of things.

This is a very nice little folder simply stamped "Sheffield England" on both blades. 3 5/8" closed.

Joe, nice dog groomer. The bone is gorgeous. It looks like it hasn't been used much, it at all. The teeth on the combs look fragile so it wouldn't take much to bend them.

Wonderful old dog groomer knife Joe. I have one also, may have the same stamp? Mine is stamped Titan on the master blade, which I believe was a brand of dog food.

Nice ones guys. Here is one I got some time ago and I'm not exactly sure what to call it.No tang stamp and one blade is what appears to be a dog grooming knife. The other looks like a hoof pick so I am assuming(bad word)that it is for grooming a horse's mane and tail?

I received an unmarked one in the POS exchange that I assumed was grooming knife. Yes? No? Something else?

Ray, with what seems to be a hoof pick, I think "horse grooming" is a good guess.

Jerry, that looks like a grooming knife of some sort with a protective tip. Unless you like corrugated potatoes.

The bone handled knives are typical of English jigging. I really have no definite idea of the timeframe though.

Here are a couple more dog grooming knives:a Parker 3 blade and an unmarked 5 blade.

Thanks I'm very happy with it I like untraditional rare knives Maybe we can get some more shown!!!!!

I have plenty of unusual untraditional pieces in my collection I could post, just not in the "Dog Grooming" thread.
I'll have a look see if there's a thread dedicated to the "unusuals" already, and if so I'll post some of mine.

Couple of these look more like horse knives. The serrated blades are for thinning manes and tails, with hoof picks for taking stones from the frog in the hoof sole and awls for tack repair. Ya cut off a latigo from the saddle with the blade, awl a hole and tie the straps together. Used em plenty.
