All About Pocket Knives

I've decided to restore, refurbish (or whatever) this Camillus folder. It has plastic scales and I want to to make bone or horn scales for it. Where can I find the nickle and brass pins for a project like this. Any suggestions appreciated.

Most Ace Hardware stores I have seen and True Value hardware stores usually have a selection of metal. Brass pins , brass tubes, brass plates, usually thinner ones, etc. are among the metals they usually have. Some will have aluminum and steel but I've never found any nickel silver at either hardware store. You might find some of the sizes on eBay or from a knife makers Supply Company like Jantz Supply.

Yep, I can't go into an Ace Hardware without buying me some brass rod.

It looks like your knife has nickel silver pins in the bolsters. Only place I know you can get that is at a knife makers supply..... Jantz is a good one as Dale has pointed out.

As far as steel pins... an old clothes hanger is great for that.

There's one guy, on ebay, who sells knife supplies and has some sizes of Nickle Silver rod. I haven't been able to get every size, through him. If I can't find it there...Jantz has just about everything you need. Be forwarned...they have a standard shipping rate of 12.95. Every time I order through Jantz, I leave a message in the comments section. "I would prefer to order all my things from Jantz; however, due to your high standard shipping rate, I usually look to other sources first."
It bugs me to get a couple of wires at 1.99 a each and have to pay 12.95. I usually save my orders up, until I have enough, to warrant the expense. If others feel the same way...maybe more comments would get them to see they are losing business, just because of this.

I hear you. I need some .070 and .062 Nickle silver rod for my current project. The shipping is a killer. I think I will add the knife repair book just so my shipping matches my order cost.

I have some 3/32" nickel silver wire that came from the Camillus factory. It is what they used in it came in a big roll so it does have some curve to it but it's no problem straightened out really. That was a common size that Camillus used for pivot pins.
I've got enough that I can sell some of it, but that is not a lot of help unless you only need 3/32".
