All About Pocket Knives

This is my first Scagel!! I got the knife yesterday and it is nicer then I thought. It's 11 1/4" over all and the blade is 6 3/8" measuring the top of the blade. Very small amount of pitting at the cutting edge on both sides but the rest is just staining. I love the darn thing!!

Man O Man! That thing is a beautiful simple work of art.

The blade is beautiful and the guard is fabulous and the handles and those little pins are just fine work.

That sure is a beautiful knife Mike. I really like the overall shape of it. Has a sleek appearance to it. Looks to be well made too. Did it come with a sheath or are you going to have one made?

That is a beautiful knife; my thought is 'understated elegance.' The more I look at it the more I like it. I am confused however by the reference to Scagel. It obviously was not made by Bill Scagel, nor does it look like anything he ever made. Is there a new meaning for the term, perhaps by a more recent knifemaker? I see a faint etch on the blade, "George......". Hoping for clarification.

The knife was definitely made by William Scagel. If you blow up the first picture you can see his mark. He made many of this same pattern knife. I'll try and post pictures.

If you need a sheath, contact the leather company that currently makes them for Randall Made Knives. They will work with you and make one that will fit this knife without the RMK stampings.

Aha! I am glad I asked; now I see. I was going by the few pics I had seen which showed quite different styling. Yessir, that knife is a beauty! I will save these images in my grail database.

galvanic1882 - Email sent to you with the info you requested. I can't think of anything more appropriate for a Scagel knife than a RMK style sheath. The current maker of RMK sheaths is Sullivan Holster Company in Odessa, Florida. They will make you a Randall style sheath without the RMK markings.
