All About Pocket Knives

There isn't a mark on this knife. Not front nor back. I don't think the tangs were ever stamped.
I use a 10 power LED loupe.

The shield and the bone must pretty identifiable.
I think this is a Eureka pattern. It's only 3 1/4" long. Kind of weighty with the 3 blades and wide springs.
A well built solid little knife with half stops on all three blades.

Any body have any ideas on the maker?

i dont think it is a eureka patttern. more like a scout / camper with that hollow punch tool/ blade.
a nice knife.i like the dogleg serpentine shape. and the bone is very nice large peach seed ?

Not a camper.It is a 3 backspring whittler.I'm likely wrong but would guess Walden Knife .

The key to ID might rest in the punch blade, many of which were patented designs held by a single manufacturer.

Can't answer your question, but it is a beauty.

I don't have a clue but I do like looking at it.

Looks like a Winchester, but as Roger said it could be a pre-Winchester Walden pattern as well.

My first impression was Remington bone even though no acorn shield. Sure is a pretty knife.

A typical Challenge shield, if that means anything, not that others could use it.

I recall old timers commenting about the acorn shield on Remingtons that the acorn shield always means that there is a punch blade but a punch blade does not always mean that there is an acorn shield.
Maybe some our Remington collectors will stop in a comment on that.

Whatever it is, I love it. I’ve always been drown to whittler patters with spey blades. Excellent knife!

The shield isn't a Remington shield. Very close but not the same. As far as acorn shield on all Remington knives with a punch, that is the general assumption but not always true. I have a couple knives that should have an acorn but have a federal shield.

If I was looking at the punch blade only it looks like an early Schrade Cut .

Still think that's a Winchester, or possibly Keen Kutter or Walden, but definitely somewhere in that familial timeline. Winchester bought Walden/Keen Kutter in around 1923, so possibly it's a bit earlier than that, but their patterns were initially the same as was the bone.

There is a definite difference to my shield.

I have a 3 spring whittler pattern in ebony, I'll have to dig it out. I think it's a keen kutter. Anyway, the OP knife reminded me of that right away.

I looked in my all things "Winchester" book and didn't see a knife like mine and certainly not a shield like mine.
Somehow I think a book like that could over look some items.

I also found a Schrade Cut Co. with composition covers that had a similar shield but not quite the same as my knife.
The Schrade shield looked more like Keith's Remington.

Definitely not Schrade Joe, they never used bone jigged like that, nor did they ever make a pattern like that with three springs as far as I'm aware of.

Not to many companies made that punch blade with the little notch above the tang .

Joe, just spotted this one on Ebay, got some similarities for sure, but slightly different shield and straight pull instead of the crescent.:
