All About Pocket Knives

Just got this bad boy from Tom at Cosgrove Cutlery! Great knife, it is tight and great snap. Easily took a razor edge. Nice bone. Everyone should give these old knives a chance, they perform very well.

I was going to go with WWII Navy and Coast Guard General Utility Knife. Steel pins. Probably steel bolsters and steel liner? Four-Line tang stamp. But then I noticed it doesn't have a bale so more likely pre-WWII before they gave them pattern numbers. I love those old girls. Unfortunately mine has a small chunk broken out of the handle (I also mis-marked it).

Correct on the bail! I removed it and filled the hole in with silicone and blended it with a brown sharpee. All in all a very very tight and snappy example. It was shaving hair after a couple of passes on ceramic rods.

EO made circa WW II. Great knives and still commonly seen. Unused ones are rare. I once collected this knife and had about 50 of them.
Some are marked "Imperial" but are the same as they were made to U.S. Military specifications.

I have a WW2 era Camillus Radio Jack that had new cocobolo covers put on it. It was a gift from my friend and fellow knife knut Bob "BigBiscuit" Bendal who passed away a little over a year ago so it is very special to me.

Thats awfully good looking. I like the classic simplicity of a well made jack knife.
