Unlikely Story

How come I'm not buying any of this and just wonder how the seller could possibly document a single word of his story? I have seen several repaired knives like this that I always thought were done during the depression. The Spanish - American War was in 1898 and then the great scrap metal drives during WWII claimed many broken and damaged knives. Items as small as paper clips and tin cans were all contributed to the war effort. I'm just not buying the story at all.

I can't convince myself to buy into a story like that.

The front handle looks like bone not horn and his story goes downhill from there. ::skeptic::

It's an old knife, almost dead. It deserves a decent burial. Buy it for your garden. Over time it will add minerals to the soil.

I'd advise a bag of recycled cow flop for your garden instead. ::tu::

Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever read a description on eBay quite that full of bull butter before. Reminds me of some of the stories the old dog traders used to tell gonsell their hunting dogs on jockey day.

Man, can’t you just picture a couple of Rough Riders, seeking shelter under fire, pulling bullets with their teeth, then melting the lead with the powder from the cartridge case. Mold that knife handle, open a tin of Spam with it and then wolf it down; resume the charge with another hail of lead from their Krag Carbines and send the Spaniards back to Espana!! I can just see it all - I’ll pay anything for that knife (any of you guys want to bankroll this venture?). OH

Sadly our Rough Rider spam knife went unsold and is no longer available but there's still time to get this Rough Rider campaign hat for a bargain!
