All About Pocket Knives

I recently bought a Keen Kutter large trapper with stag scales. It's supposed to be made in the good ole' USA of "high carbon steel". I was wondering if any of you guys can give me any information about this brand of knife, it's general acceptance as a "worthwhile knife" and any other items concerning it....good or bad.

Knife is made by bear and son cutlery in Jacksonville, Alabama

I suspected it might have some kinship to either James Parker or Bear & Sons because of the overall appearance and a slightly longer front bolster than you'd normally see on a trapper of this profile.

I suspected that they were made by Bear & Son, and just recently read somewhere that Bear & Son had bought the name. Personally I really like Bear & Son knives. They're comparatively inexpensive and I've been using one in my EDC rotation for a while, and it has been great. They don't seem to garner much respect though, and I don't understand why. At any rate, I'm sure you will be satisfied with your new knife.

Good observation....Bear & Son (formerly Bear MGC) was originally Parker's own plant that made Parker USA knives...when Parker went bankrupt, some eomoyees bought the plant and renamed it Bear MGC. Many of the patterns/tooling have remained the same from the Parker years.

Ah yes....one of, if not my most favorite pattern of pocket knife. I don't have a Keen Kutter in this pattern, but I have 9 or 10 Parker-Edwards brands.
