Antique Navaja

Hi there everyone, Happy New Year.Ive had this navaja for a little while now and can't find out anything about it apart from it being probably Spanish.Any help would be appreciated,ie. Age,maker and country incase I am wrong.Thanks[image][/image]

I collect navajas for many years. I agree that knife is from Spain. Many of the larger knives of this type open with a ratchet. Most lock by means of a lever on top, close to pivot. You raise the lever to unlock. I cannot identify the maker by the marks, but it appears to be quite old. Newer ones are stainless and don’t blacken. In any case it’s a beautiful knife.

Thankyou for replying, I still do not know the maker but agree it is a beutifull knife and does lock and unlock like you say, it is quite old and would like to know how old, I also have an old French navaja also, thankyou,
