All About Pocket Knives

My submission for my current favorite Honest Old Knife. Craftsman Stockman 9470. Don't know a great deal about it, love the swedge and long pull on the clip. Spey reminds me of Kutmaster for some reason. Looks to be Delrin, or some facsimile thereof. Just a skooch under 4". Full blades, tight, no real "half stop", but there is a series of degrees where it is not exactly linear motion, could be a worn tang at half stop position. Rest of the knife is fine by me, and it takes a great edge.

I believe that one is an Ulster U.S.A. in Delrin. It could be an Imperial or Camillus, but I think Ulster (not to be confused with pre-war Ulsters). All of the former I mentioned are iterations of similar products from the Baer Dynasty, and are sometimes mashups of different factories/parts/employees. It is not always possible to know the exact program, except that we know that the only Swinden key machinery was in the Schrade Ellenville (formerly Ulster) buildings.

That old Robeson has seen a lot of love, very nice. Only Robeson I ever bought (t was in a lot buy) had 2 broken blades, but really nice scales. Not sure what ever happened to that one... ETA: sorry, got distracted by that Robeson. Thanks for that info on the Craftsman, that's more than I had before.

I have always thought it unfortunate that only ulster and craftsmans had peachseed delrin while it's very scarce on schrades. In fact I have seen only one peachseed delrin schrade, which I bought. Perhaps by that time the folks at schrade were ready for a new look after 40 years or so of peachseed.

Gonna give this old cracked ice Hammer cattle knife a little pocket time this week. It gets a keen edge to it

HOK's are my favorites - had much love and use in the past and now ready for more of the same from me. This Case 6332 that 313 Mike gifted me with, has not left my pocket since it arrived mid-week. It very quickly took a terrific edge on a washita stone and responded immediately to a few drops of oil. After all the Case 18 patterns I have bought, Mike may have woken a sleeping Case 32 pattern giant that will have to be fed. OH

HOC's are my favorites and that 32 is a prime example but old shell handle knives have the best working edges on any knife that cattle is a good one.For me in the woods this morning was the lowly Camco 535,easy to pocket and handy

Here is the knife I've been carrying for a week or so;an old Queen slim dogleg with replaced handles.The cel was destroying it when I found it and I replaced them with some old Plexiglas I had kicking around from another project.Didn't really clean up the brass liners so it looks a bit scummy under the handles but what the heck;it's a work knife!

Like it! Those slimlines got a lot of blade and are easy on the pocket!
