Spalted Maple Poll

I have a few pieces left of this spalted maple and would like some feedback before going any further. This was sold as coraline spalted maple, fancy name for something that is going to rot.

LAST PICTURE IS BEST.

If you find that you are in the I can't decide whether I would like the look or not situation, please wait a couple days before voting.

I made a poll to help me decide whether I should stabilize the rest and I am hoping you can be of great help to me. It has to be stabilized to be used, the spalted part would fall apart otherwise. Some of the wood is "nornal maple" and the rest is basically spalted, looks like it is at the beginning of the spalting process.

The piece in the picture is stabilized. Please vote and/or leave a comment I would appreciate it immensely, all comments are welcome whether they are negative or positive. This is not one of the better pieces.

I sure appreciate your help and comments, THANK YOU!

Virtually anything in sporting goods can be found in imitation, but here's the real thing.......CAMO, designed by nature !!

I've been looking at spalted maple on the bay, but every time I see something I really like, so do lots of other bidders.

It is living mold so wear a dust mask. Don't want that stuff in your lungs.

Yes sir you are right. It is also stabilized so a cartridge respirator in good working condition is MANDATORY! NO DUST MASKS!

Simply hideous.

Send them to me for imediate disposal. I'll even cover the shipping to make sure they are "disposed of" properly. Especially the bottom one in the fourth pic. eeewwww....

Nice stuff Hukk. Keep us posted on what knives end up wearing those.

Thanks for the feedback, I apreciate it. I guess I will get a little more down to K&G so it will be stabilized and useable.
