All About Pocket Knives

I have had this for a few years now and was going through my knife collection today. I am curious if someone could confirm that if I cannot see a pin on either side of the butt if this is a barrel nut knife. However I cannot see a pin or nut on the very end either. As you can tell from pic the handle is messed up. I need to have the handle replaced. Looks like someone tried to drill a hole in it or something. I received it in this condition. Thank you

Jay, I'm going to give you my educated guess. Barrel nut knives I've seen show a definite ring on the rear but I've seen lots of pinned knives where the pin was indistinguishable. pete
