Who made this knife?

Post by just bob »

Any idea who made this? Isn't 1961 too early for China?

1961 is the year Cabelas was founded. Likely the shield commemorates that rather than the year the knife was actually manufactured.

Probably 2011, as that would have been their 50th anniversary; and in keeping with Cabelas cheaper stuff.

Like the guys said that is a knife Cabela's had made for the 50th commemorating the event, They had lots of things made with that marking, I worked there during that time, I have a Ruger 10/22 with a French Walnut stock with that mark o n the pistol grip. The French walnut stocks were made by Ruger and not a cheap item. I'm sure the knife is a Chinese made one however. ::tu:: Terry

I have owned an identical knife and thought Japan was the likely origin. No actual reason other than owning many lower end made in Japan knives, this one gave me the same 'feeling'. However with no country of origin marking does this not indicate USA manufacture ?
My 'same' knife was ebayed within the last 1-2 years. Could it be the actual same knife ?
