I saw something in another post about their favorite knife purchase in 2018, and it got me thinking.
I catalog my knives, so I started looking at my 2018 purchases.
I still haven't made a decision on my fav just yet, but I am very interested in what other folks think.
Let's see those gems from 2018!
I will post a pic of mine when I decide.
Thanks!

These are among my favorite knives that I've ever bought, I count them as one because they have to stick together. I'm pretty sure I got them in 2018. After a long search for fine examples of this pattern I found both just a few weeks apart from the same seller. Patience pays off sometimes, but it also helps to try and have some money available, which happened to work out in my favor for once.

Those are very nice Paul, real nice finds for sure.

They look to be in great condition as well, any idea when they were made?
As far as my favorite this year... well I'm gonna have to look 'em over and get back to this thread later when I can make a decision.

My favorite so far is my Case Navy Blue, red Badge Canoe. I carry it everywhere. Just wished it came in CV.

I'll post 2 knives here since I can't decide which one I like better. I've slowed down on buying quite a bit but was happy to be able to ad these two hard to find knives to my fixed blades.
Top is a Maher & Grosh Klondike with 8" blade and original sheath.
Bottom is M.S.A. 6" ideal. Sheath is correct but not original to the knife.

I'm torn between 3 purchases I made this year:
(1) New Britain Knife - hard to find manufacturer in really decent shape for 100+ years old.
(2) Bob Neal elk covered curved knife - always wanted one and when the opportunity presented itself I checked it off my list
(3) Etched BSA Presto-Schrade - upgraded from the faintly-etched version that I have since sold
2018 was a pretty decent purchasing year for my permanent collection - have been very blessed!

I would say that this one is my most treasured knife of 2018. Graciously sold to me by Roland.

Thanks Greg. By the stamp they are from the the late 40's to early 50's. I don't think it would be unreasonable to speculate they even came from the same 1/2 dozen box, but I can only speculate.

I reserve the right to change my mind about this. Amongst the many purchases this year, several from Roland or KJ, and many others. These two Mcusta’s have stolen my heart. I can’t decide which one of these I like better. Handles are made from 33 layer Damascus. How they formed these two very distinct handles is amazing. You really need to get one of these. Thanks to Gary Kennedy of Kennedy Knives, he helped me finish out my collection of all 7 MC-3 series, he got me the last 3 that I needed. Love them all but these two are my favorites.

2018 was a big year for me with Bulldog brand. Although there were many that were impressive, this one stood out for the sheer precision and refinement of its construction.

I identified a bunch of knives that I purchased in 2018 which would be candidates; in fact I could not pick one. I could not even pick a dozen. I did purchase a small collection of CASE/BOSE knives from a member of another forum which all came together one day and knocked me right over. As I said, these are not my only number "ones" for 2018, but it could work for this thread.

Works just like a regular pocket knife Mike except all the components are curved rather than straight - more of an oddity/novelty than and tool-type purpose.

Those are exceptional! That first knife (Arkansas Hunter?) is one big chunk of fine pearl and that Norfolk is stunning too. Precious!

Boy, some fine knives being shared so far!
I picked up this John Lloyd second hand, but it is a beauty of a knife, even in its' used condition. I picked up some nice knives throughout the year, but this is my favorite of the year.
