One of our resident authors has done it again! LongBlade (Lee) has penned an article in the December issue of Knife Magazine titled "A Thomaston Knife Co. Whittler with History". After reading it today I was left with the feeling that months if not years of research were homogenized into that article and it is a treasure trove of valuable information for you history buffs. I'm sure Lee is making good use of his time while his ankle heals conjuring up another another story for all of us to enjoy. Bravo!

Thanks very much all - much appreciated

... your comments are more than kind!! For me this was a situation where a Thomaston Whittler with a unique etch and stamp lead me to a very interesting story - one where very little information had been previously noted. It took me awhile to piece it together but was good fun!! Thanks again!!

This is similar to my reaction when the new KNIFE magazine arrives every month.

The union connection drew me and the article had to take a lot of effort, as that information is not readily available.
Great research Lee.

Thanks very much Lyle and Roger - much appreciated

...
You received 2 copies Roger - I’m still hoping my issue comes today

... Please do keep an eye out Roger for a similar etch

- I figured with your collection of etched knives maybe you would come across one... no doubt abit of a mystery as I have yet to find another despite a reference from the labor records stating the knives of the associated companies were to have the Union label... I’m hoping maybe as it gets more readership and viewing another will appear but if not perhaps it supports the contention that it was a “prototype” or “midnight oil” knife by a Union member which is a possibility that can’t be ruled out yet - and especially because the Union started at Thomaston Knife Co.. Thanks!!
