All About Pocket Knives

A current ebay listing shows a nice Robeson stockman 633295. The Robeson history sites, and AAPK posts, say: first digit 6 =handle material is OK, second digit 3 = blade# is OK, third digit 3 = nickel silver bolsters AND liners ::shru!g:: This seems wrong as the liners are clearly brass on this particular knife.
How concerned should one be about the third digit discrepancy and the authenticity of this posting?

The knife was not made by The Robeson Cutlery Company in Perry, New York.

It was made, most likely, by The Camillus Cutlery Company, on contract for Cutler Federal Corporation, who purchased the rights to the "Robeson" name after the company went out of business in 1965.

The pattern number being on the front of the master blade is indicative of that.

Probably nothing wrong with the knife. It is as assembled by Camillus. But, it wasn't assembled by old Robeson factory cutlers who would not have used that blade in that knife. Or they wouldn't have used brass liners with that blade. Either way you want to look at it.

Perfectly usable, but not a collectible knife, in my opinion.
