Thar she blows!

Ive been carrying this one a lot lately, it brings a smile to my face everytime I pull it out.

No not ivory, just some type of bone. These were sold in display cases, i think in 1976&78, this one titled Moby Dick, and as Redryder pointed out the other one was "Nantucket Sleigh ride".

I have the set in displays, but this one was bought cheap without it's box. I only have about $250 into all three knives. I enjoy the display ones, but really enjoy the user pictured. Thanks for all the kind words guys. Ed

Fine knife. I'm glad to see you carry it. When I carry one of my scrim pieces it is a very rare occurrence. I tend to baby them. I've sometimes had the thought that perhaps we should have a thread dedicated to scrimshaw, but I'm guessing that scrim is too small a niche to justify it; that the thread would quickly go to sleep. Still, I've noticed that when a visitor observes my knives they are often drawn to the scrimshaw.
