Intro - Howdy

Hey Gang, Been lurking here quite a while, thought I might as well get out of the Shadows and introduce myself.
I've been collecting since about '95, though my interests have focused almost exclusively on Custom Fixed Blades - mostly by older Makers. I have a nice collection of Ruana knives and wrote an Article for Knife World about Rudy and his knives a couple of years back.
I am broadening my horizons now and am trying to get into older Production Fixed blades and Current (New) Slipjoints. I learn slowly so I figure I better stick with learning about one thing at a time, older Production Hunters will keep me challenged for a long time, so I figure I can't go too wrong if I just buy new on the Folder side.
My interests in folders so far lie in the GEC offerings and maybe the S&M line - BUT I haven't purchased one yet so I will keep reading and learning.
I'm a heavy Researcher and I enjoy that part almost as much as owning the knives. I have a large Knife Related Book collection and I purchased several more books recently that will help me in my quest on Older Hunters, but I also like to interact with more Seasoned Collectors as I enjoy the discussions that leads to.
I am a friend of Perry Millers (maybe I shouldn't tell that)
but I remember many years ago when I had some CASE knives and Perry had some Randalls, I didn't know much about the CASE so I just sent them all to him and said "Send me some Randalls that you don't want". Perry and I are both Jarheads and our Wives are both named "Marie" - so we also have that to talk about. He has helped me out quite a bit over the years - I am glad that he is enjoying himself and doing so well in the Knife business.
