Seeking info on KA-BAR Union Cut Co knife

Postby jftf » Thu Oct 11, 2018 11:18 pm

Looking for some help with this knife, and, full disclosure, I'm an eBay seller. The knife is stamped KA-BAR on the master blade tang and Union Cut Co/Olean NY/USA on the other two tangs. There is no pattern number anywhere to be found. The red in the handles is much more sparkly than I could photograph. So, what is its age, what is the model called, what are the handles called, how scarce is it and how desirable is it? Appreciate any info.

Nice looking knife. Sorry, I have no info to offer. No doubt someone here will come along and be able shed some light.

Handle material is called "Christmas Tree" celluloid. I don't know a lot about Kabar's but this knife looks to be pre-WWII.

The "christmas tree" celluloid was primarily used from around 1920 to 1945.

When gunsil rolls in, he can probably tell you the name of its 3rd cousin twice removed on its great-great grandfather's side.

If it is 3 5/8 long closed I think it is a KA-BAR stockman 9357. Nice knife.
