... Love the look of pocket worn stag - no doubt this English pattern was quite popular and certainly still is in the garden - not sure I have seen any American company ever make a Lamb Foot knife... BTW - George Butler made quality knives for a quite a long period of time - the roots starting in the later 1700s and ending around 1950... (I have an old George Butler peach pruner posted awhile back under the Horticultural knife thread in Knife Lore)...

The Lambsfoot blade is truly elegant, ...it just feels right. It's a shame it's not really used anymore ...

Actually the pattern is still made by A Wright & Sons Sheffield... and my buddy from across the pond was telling me he knows a few who still use it - not just for the garden either
...
