A picture of the tang would be helpful. Along w/ a few more of the back and some close ups.
I can’t identify it from the photo. But the tang stamp will go a long way in helping.

Made in Japan, by Mitsoboshi, I think, during the sixties and seventies. I have the same knife, my father bought it new in the seventies from Popular Mechanics and carried it in his tackle box before he upgraded to a Gerber tool, then I ended up with it.

Yeah, back when Christ was a Corporal, they had ads for those in the back of outdoor magazines like Field & Stream and Outdoor Life. They didn't cost much.

Shoes not worth much either. I think they leave a trail of flickering lights when you're trying to get away.

... Thanks Greg - I was thinking I was missing some type of connection .. so the knife was stolen in the dark and the sneakers were used to track the "varmit" who stole it

these were common inexpensive knives when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s-japan..
