All About Pocket Knives

This old kitchen knife has been laying around my shop for months on end.
It's a 489-8 Dexter. I picked it up somewear hoping to make it usable. i'm glad I finally cleaned up the edge.
These are very good knives and they probably won't come cheap in that auction.
I did this hurriedly but I did make the knife satisfactorily usable.
Some before and after pictures and shown with my 489-12 and 489-14.

Dexter knives were produced by Henry Harrington, Harrington Cutlery in Southbridge, Massachusetts.

Nice ones! Definitely an oldie with that tapered tang.

Thank you, Ray. All three of those knives have a tapered tang. That was one of the unique things about the 489 model.
And that flared bolster at the heel. Plus great steel.
I ground that out on a carborundum wheel. That's hard steel.
