I just got this old Robeson cattle knife back together today. I bought it at a flea market out of a $2 an item box a couple of weeks ago. It was missing the rear handle slab and the front one looked like it had been to close to a heat source at some point in it's life. Most likely yellow celluloid?

I rehandled it with ivory paper Micarta and relaid the shield.

This was probably an expensive knife back in its day, besides the nickle silver bolsters, the liners and the center divider are also nickle silver. Anyway, back from one foot in the grave to riding in my pocket.

The ivory Micarta was a good choice. It suits the knife perfectly.

Thanks for all the comments. Even though this old Robeson has had the master blade sharpened a lot, it is still a good old usable knife. The snap on this knife is still "thunderous" on all three blades and you can put a scary sharp edge on it. It is a "Shuredge".

WOW... great job OC...
I need to look at getting some micarta so I can recover a few of my gassed off celluloid knives.
