All About Pocket Knives

Hello. New to the forum and I have a knife I can not identify. Hopeing someone here can help. Only stamp is the remington stamp. I appreciate any and all help. Thank you in advance

Hello, your knife is not a regular remington issued knife from the 1920 to 1940 era which are the original and most desireable issues. Not sure what you have but your knife is not the Quality of the original remington fixed blades, Randy

Actually Remington only made hunting knives from 1925-1940. The knife in question looks assembled from odd parts none of which are from the original 1925-40 Remington factory. It looks like a repro of some sort blade that has been very crudely attached to a crude handle and pommel.

Well. It was my dads. He has passed so can't ask him. But he did serve in the army stationed in japan in the late 40's and early fifties. Not sure if that info helps at all. He was also a machinist so its very possible he put it all together.

And if your dad made it then that makes it pretty special.

Yes it does. Also has a fairly decent sheath

Just speculation but the handle looks like one of those adjustable blade knives from Murphy or Dexter in Massachusetts.
