Princess Sunday Go-To Meetin' Knives

Hope I'm posting this in the right place. My husband died last year. Among his things was a small, dark-blue leather case that says in gold on the top "Sunday Go-to-Meetin' Knives." (fancy scroll-type letters) Wen you open the case, there's a cream-colored satin lining inside the lid with a young girl in a Victorian dress in gold in the middle. She's wearing what appears to be a crown. Below that, in a felted case are 6 small knive, each with a different handle. One is a white mother of pearl and silver handle; another is a burled reddish wood and silver handle; the third is a dark gray and silver handle (looks like it could be marble); the fourth is another mother of pearl, with more blue in it than the first one; the fifth has what looks like gold squares with a rough copper (?) inbetween, all covered iwth a clear product to make it smooth; and the sixth looks like a bone handle. All of the knives will fold up and are very small. The case and the knives all are in perfect condition -- no signs of wear, mildew, etc. on anything. Is anyone familiar with this product that can tell me how much it might be worth? Someone wants to buy it. Thanks

Welcome to our forum. Questions such as yours are always welcome.

The knives were a product of Parker Cutlery, and the style of the little things are known as tiny 'texas toothpicks'. I haven't looked up as to when these were issued, most probably in the early eighties.

I'd guess the worth between $50 and $90. Ebay is the new arbiter of pricing of knives, but I haven't seen this set sell in a while. Perhaps some other members have their own ideas of the present value.

Hi janchan welcome to the forum! ::tu:: Sounds very interesting for sure, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Is there anyway you can put up a few pics? Kelley

Okay -- I'm not a newbie to forums such as this, but it's not letting me upload the pics. I kssp getting this message:

Upload Error: Could not upload Attachment to ./files/knives1_661.jpg.

I followed the instructions that were given. Is the forum just having a glitch?

Hi Janchan:
Try reducing the size of photo's to email size. (640Xdefault) For the first time ever I got the same message today and that seemed to cure it.
