Folding Camillus Gouge??

I bought this Camillus folding Gouge? at an antique sale. Can anyone tell me anything about it. Age, What it was used for, Value?

Hi Mike. Warm ::welcome:: to the site. It is a timber scriber or sometimes I think called a raze. It is designed to mark crates, barrels etc. To estimate the age we would need to see a close-up or detailed description of the tang stamp please. :) s-k

I'll ask Tom Williams to comment on this one. But here is an old Camillus illustration of the blade on their Rase knives. What yours looked like, probably, before it was broken.

i have owned several race knives and some were worn and used like yours, a working tool. history in your hand.
