All About Pocket Knives

I have been looking for information on this knife. kershaw, Oregon, USA, 1080 Japan
It is a folding lockback knife that comes in a miniature holster that looks like a Derringer or a Colt. It has a small pistol type grip.

Welcome to the forums kentstools! Pictures are always helpful when inquiring about a specific item. Is this the model you are referring to? There are a couple of people on here who are bore familiar with Kershaw knives than I am;hopefully they will see this and chime in.

Thank you for your response. Yes that is the knife. I am attaching 2 pictures that I couldn't download yesterday. The knife has never been used and is not rusty . That is glare or shadow in the picture.Thanks again, Kent

Checking in some of my Kershaw catalogs I see the Kershaw 1080, the model.22 Cal postal knife is listed in the 1991 Kershaw catalog. I don't see it prior to that so I'm not sure when it was actually introduced. I have not been able to secure every year of old Schrade catalogs so it's hard to tell sometimes when a pattern was introduced.

I don't think they were around for too many years but I can't say for sure as I left the cutlery business in 1992. The 1991 catalog says the knife has a 2-1/4" locking blade and is 6-1/4" closed. It came in a harness leather holster type scabbard.

Sorry I can give you more information but that's all I can find at this time.

Thanks for your info. on my kershaw 1080. It is 6-1/8" opened; 4-1/8" closed and it has a 2-1/4" blade. It does come with the harness leather holster type scabbard.
