Case Flippers?

Anybody seen these yet? I remember a few years ago that Case announced plans for a line of modern knives but I thought those were going to be branded differently and made overseas. Apparently, these are made in the U.S.A by Southern Grind with Case XX stamped on the blade.

I saw those awhile back, somewhere.
Looks like just another celebrity-endorsed, over-priced knife gimmick.
I'm sure they will appeal to many, but not my poor a**

I don't like stonewashed blades. Looks like they made the blade from some old galvanized roofing metal.

I suspect the price is driven by the S35VN steel and the celebrity connection. I'm out - neither of those things impress me.

While I think the stone wash looks kinda cool, I'm just not into tactical or single blade knives.
Jacks are okay, I have a few and do carry them, but I much prefer stockmans.

I have not held one of the Case Soutern Grinds yet, but I have two Southern Grind knives. A "Bad Monkey" and a "Spider Monkey".
No gimmick, high quality knives.
The proceeds from Southern Grind knives support "Camp Southern Ground". The camp is for the children of family members serving in the military as well as respite for active and veteran service members.

If how poorly the Orange County Choppers Chopperlock sold is any indication (most places I know that sell Case can't get rid of them even deeply discounted) and the I don't have high hopes in terms of sales. I'm largely a vintage traditional knife fan (even at 22), I have some higher end tactical type folders and like them, such as Spyderco, and Eickhorn, I just feel that this isn't a knife Case's target market won't buy, and a lot of people into tactical knives don't care for Case.

Me too Steve. When I think pocket knife, I think stockman. I almost feel undergunned without three blades. Lol

Nothing hew here. These were introduced over a year ago, first appeared at some dealers in June 2017. The knives are made by Southern Grind and marketed through Case.

Not my style either, but I'm not the target market. I think it's along the lines of Case/Bose, Case/Yellowhorse, or other collaborations. Probably sell some knives, get a spokesperson to talk up Case and exposure to markets they don't otherwise reach. Southern Grind gets access to Case distribution network and advertising help, and like Case, exposure to markets they don't normally reach. Win-win.

My bad, Ken. I thought these were relatively new. The description in my link states that they "debuted at BLADE Show 2018" and I had taken that as fact. Thanks for clearing that up.

John, thanks for posting. The fact you handled one compels me to ask: In your opinion, would you rate it more like a $50 knife? Perhaps a $100 knife? Were there any specific issues that led to your conclusion?
