All About Pocket Knives

I can’t find a value anywhere of what this might be worth, any help appreciated.

Not sure of the value but a really interesting knife!
I love the little fold out pruner.

These show up on ebay a few times per year, marked Hoffritz (importer) or sometimes with the name of German manufacturer. Yours is the first i have seen with what might be the original case or sheath. Highest i have seen it sell for is just under $100, others somewhat lower.

Bonsa, if I recall, was the forerunner in fold-out plier/shear type multitools, making them in the 1950s, well before Buck came out with the Whitaker series about 10 or 15 years ago. They made both a fisherman's knife with fold-out pliers, as well as this pruner based multitool.

I have one of them.The thing I don't like about it is the latch holding the pruner handle seems to be mis-aligned and I haven't been able to fix it. Not that I would need to;I don't prune trees and if I did I would find something a bit easier to use. Don't remember how much I paid for mine;probably not very much.

Then that means that what I thought was abuse on mine was actually a factory defect. The pliers also won't close all the way.

I think Stan Shaw also made this pattern knife. Not sure if they were made while he was working at Ibberson or one of the other cutleries at which he was employed or using his own marque.

I have seen a photo of him with a whole tray of such knives on his workbench.

Finding one of those in great condition would be plum.

I don't fish on the 'Bay very often, but I did find this Ibberson. Unique utility knives always spark my interest. Interesting locking mechanism to keep the snips secured.
