A F Bannister find

Postby Jody744 » Thu Jul 12, 2018 12:26 am

Found this locally, snaps like a gator, main blade a bit proud when closed, trying to decide if I want to file the kick...

Neat old knife. If it was mine I would file the kick.

Seems as though it may have seen a little filing already. You could also file the blade back to bring the point lower. Have to make it a gradual cut though, you don't just want an abrupt drop. If you need help at it feel free to shoot me a PM.

Just an additional thought on your fine old knife: If you file the kick on the main blade, the nail nick may be below the secondary blade. That kick might also have to be filed just a tad to keep the main blade accessible. ::hmm::
