All About Pocket Knives

I have 2 very nice Trappers marked "Browning/U.S.A."; one is 4 1/8" with jigged wood handles and the other is 3 5/16" with wood handles.
Camillus made some of the Browning U.S.A. lockbacks but i do not recognize these Trappers as being Camillus knives.
Do you know which U.S.A. knife manufacturer made these Trappers ?

Roland, the bone looks like a Kutmaster.

I was trying to find another made-in-the-USA brand trapper with that sabre blade profile, but I'm coming up empty.

Roland; those are both Queen made knives. Queen made a few patterns for Browning. I'm guessing that the bone handled knife originally had wood handles - I think Queen only made wood handled knives for Browning.

Compare the large one to a 70's or 80's era Queen #19 trapper...same tooling.

So made by Queen. When was Browning having their knives made in USA ?
I think the first Browning folders are the ones marked "Germany" and the later ones are marked "Japan".
Anyone know the approximate years when Browning had knives made in each of these countries ?

Roland:As far as I know the first Browning knives were USA made in the 1970's and then Germany and Japan.Here are a few.

Thank you Ray, and for the pictures as well. I have not seen the stag fixed blade before. I think it might be rather rare.

Roland:It was a special edition Model 53(1 of 2000)and I made an error;it was made in Japan, It is very well made;tapered tang,filework on the blade tang,birdseye rivets on the handle

Did Browning hire cutlers and build a shop ? I am unaware of a knife manufacturer in Utah.
I read some years back that the USA made Brownings are quite collectible, but that there is much less collector interest in the Brownings made in Germany or Japan. Do you (anyone) agree with this ?
I have Brownings from all 3 countries and quality seems similar regardless of where it was made.

When I bought these Browning knives made in the USA, I "thought" that they were made by Western. However, I have since read that they were made in Gunnison, Utah in other posts here on AAPK. I have no idea what knife company was located in Gunnison, if any. I was hoping someone would know who actually made them. I still have these knives and they are very high quality. Yes, I agree that the USA made Browning knives are more valuable than the German or Japan made knives.

Browning's head office in USA is in Morgan, Utah. I think any Utah address was their business location, not associated with manufacturing.
Does Browning actually manufacture anything ? or are their firearms like their knives: contracted out ?
