All About Pocket Knives

I haven't asked for any knives this year, because I recently closed my shop, and have about 700 in storage. I am giving some away though. I have given Cold Steel stockmans to an uncle and brother-in-law, Cold Steel Voyager to my brother, 14 Smith&Wesson twin blade Cuttin Horses to some friends, and held a drawing($1.00 per entry for Katrina Relief) for a Benchmade Pika. I LOVE playing Santa!

Well I'am hoping some of my family gets me a knife for CHRISTmas, but it is the season for giving so I'am giving some Case knive to a nephew, brother-inlaw, and future brother-in-laws. It's fun to pass an addiction around. Maybe become collectors themselves.

I'm getting myself a knife for Christmas -- a Queen Mountain Man Lockback in Sambar Stag and 1095 steel from Cumberland Knifeworks. I've reserved it, just waiting for them to come in.

My father in law is getting a blue bone Boker large stockman from me. I wanted to get him something kind of nice, but balance that with the knowledge that he'll treat it about as gingerly as you would a screwdriver. My Dad and Step Dad already both have slipjoints that I got them for their birthdays. Neither of them EDCed anything before that and now they both often tell me they don't know how they ever got along without a pocketknife.

My father in law already carries a small SAK on his keychain so for him the Boker will just be an upgrade.

I don't know if i'll get a knife from anyone or not this year, I'm not very vocal asking for myself. I did get a friend of mine a Boker red pick bone copperliner. I also got my 8 yr old nephew a case stag peanut, a boker red bone trapper , and larger knife roll to keep his growing collection.

well, we got to open a few presents early, tonight on christmas eve. i hadnt asked for a knife for christmas, but my sister got me this one for christmas. i was really suprised when i opened it. its a 10 dot, 1980, 5244 stag jack knife, with the anniversary etching on the blade and scrolled bolsters. im really tickled with it and it went straight into my collection. anyway, hope everyone has a great christmas!

My family gets together on XMASS Eve, so we already exchanged gifts, I got:

A Buck 110 and a Case 1995 6254 in Mint condition.

I gave:

My Brother and his son-in-law both got 128OT Schrade Classics Stockman with Sheep Horn scales.

My Nephew got a Buck Mantis and my youngest nieces boyfriend got a Wenger Alpine Backpacker SAK.

And as a joke gift, myself and my nieces husband both got Lightsabers!

Does is count when you get to buy your own Christmas gift. My wife asked while I was looking at these what do you want for Christmas and soooooo I went ahead and made the purchase and poof here they are.

Hey Steve, I was your case Christmas knife, really a nice one. You mentioned that it had 10 dots on it. I've always heard that the number of dots indicates what year the knife was made. Is that true or do the dots mean something else? Also some case knives have something like four dots above and maybe six or seven dots below the name on the tang. Any help clarifying me on this? thanks wt3l

Well, I was lucky enough to get two nice knives from Santa...ok, ok one from my wife and one from her brother who I have converted over from his idle time on Mondays and Fridays. HEHEHE he now joins us to watch the knife show on Dish Network. My wife got me a beautiful Mother of Pearl/Lapis Senator it's on a Camillus frame. My brother-in-law gave me a nice Case Canoe in Amber bone with Chrome Vanadium blades. I don't have a digital camera to show you guys my knives. I do have a scanner though. It might work that way. I'm not the greatest on a pc. Anyway we hope each and everyone of you all had a great Christmas. wt3l

Thanks a lot Sunburst....I will try and do better on the pictures, hehehe The knife came in a box marked Sante Fe Stoneworks. I think they take some old knives, like this one and redo the handles. A local fountain type Drug Store has part of his store area dedicated to knives, that's where my Santa Wife found this one. the web site is http://www.newgraham.com they have a pretty good selection. thanks again. wt3l

Thanks Bill, I knew New Graham sold lots of knives every day, but I had no idea they were of that magnitude. My inlaws eat breakfast nearly every morning at "The Last Great Soda Fountain" another part of the store. I know many employees, it truely is a first class operation.
