All About Pocket Knives

I like double bladed knives that have a single back spring. I guess I like them slimmer and I know it takes more skill to build them that way. I also like nickel-silver liners. The Case Canoe comes pretty close to all this, but I don't care for a spear main blade. I'm wondering, does anyone make a Muskrat pattern like this?

Schrade USA made the 77OT, a muskrat pattern, as both a single spring and a double spring. Schrade also made the same knife in 'open stock' the 787. I believe this also came as a single spring and a 2 spring.
I agree with you that the single spring version is a more interesting knife.

Here are two single spring Muskrats.

The great Remington with the single wide spring with a catch bit on either side of the blade tangs.
Nail nick recesses. Smooth as butter. Love that wide spring! And that bone!

And a Utica Kutmaster with all the liners you will want in a knife.
Nail nick recesses in Delrin. Decent enough knife.

Here is a rare 1950s stainless 787 singlespring in peachseed bone and threaded bolsters.

Joe, in your picture looking down on closed blades it looks like one blade is thicker than the other, not 2 identical blades. Is this the case ? or is it picture angle ? Having one blade more 'stout' is, or would be, useful.

I like the GEC 35 pattern. It doesn't have 2 long blades like a Muskrat, but does have a nice clip master and a useful sheepsfoot built into a slim profile. The liners are brass.

Calvin, wow, rare & beautiful ! Finest example of a S-W muskrat i have seen with any steel, but stainless is like hens' teeth.

CASE/BOSE muskrats were singlesprings. They made them in 2004 in several handle materials. They come up occasionally for sale.

In 2013 GEC released a muskrat on the #81 frame and called it the "Coon Skinner". Anyone know if it is a single spring ?

I agree with Jerry the 35 single spring GEC churchill #35 is a fabulous user and still available at some dealers.

I like that Schrade Cut with the small clip blade, haven't seen that combination before.
I like having a choice of 2 blade types or sizes, and I find the fine point of clip blades generally more useful.

I got a Walden Rat that a great formal dress knife, nice ,thin and two razor sharp blades!
