I picked up a very nice Western L66 B USA Leather Sheath Fixed Blade Hunting Knife
AGE: Circa 1950s – 1960s. What does the letter B mean? There was also a letter E and possibly more used by Western. no pictures yet, to much rain that didn't help the second day of the swap meet. Thanks.

The B indicates that the knife was made in 1978.

Western started putting year codes on the knives in 1977, starting with A. After Coleman bought Western in 1984, they continued the practice. The last date code was O for 1991, the year Camillus bought the name and assets.
