I am in the market for any GEC Northwoods models in quality mammoth.

I'm also interested in Case Pocket Hunter, Case Mid Folding Hunter and Case muskrat all in Black pearl. I'm not even sure if Case made black lip pearl in these patterns. Any information appreciated. Thanks!!

Anyone out there have a Northwoods Hawthorne, Lincoln Jack or Presidential in mammoth that you'd be willing to sell or trade (of any other NW mammoth)? Please send me a pm if interested.

Agreed. I don't have too many of the Shirley mammoth Northwoods but I do have several of his mammoth Marbles (2001 to 2005) before he started Northwoods. That's said, I do appreciate the blades on the Bohn Northwoods and would like to find a mammoth knive in each of the patterns it was issued. I'm primarily after a Hawthorne and Lincoln Jack in mammoth but I wouldn't pass up a Presidential either. After doing a little research, it appears the following 8 patterns were NOT released IN MAMMOTH:
Broadway Jack
Bullet Jack
Little Bay
Delta Jack
Everyday Barlow
Burnside Jack
Feyette Jack
Indian River Jack
If that's accurate, I believe the Bohn NW that WERE released IN MAMMOTH were:
Lincoln Jack (still looking)
Norfolk
Willamette (mammoth and spiral mammoth)
Madison Barlow (mammoth and spiral mammoth)
Hawthorne (still looking)
Presidential
Forest Jack
Esky Zulu
Big Bay
Bear Lake
Michigan Jack
Fremont Jack
I know there are folks on here that know more about the subject than myself so please, if I'm mistaken on any of the above or if I'm missing something, please let me know. AND of course, if anyone has any of the above, please send me a pm to discuss purchase, trade or a combination.

Hi hunt, thanks for posting this list of NW with & without mammoth. Where did you get this info ? The KSF NW 'archive' section does not give handle options. I emailed KSF in the past asking for info on earlier NW that were KSF era knives and was told no records have been kept of handle options and numbers. Too busy selling knives & shipping them out to make notes.

GEC has the information up through 2016. I looked at the KSF archive for 2017 & 2018 and assumed the covers they show for each knife produced was accurate. If they showed a knife in micarta, burlap, linen but no mammoth, then I assumed it wasn't offered in mammoth. Like I said in the previous post, I'm open to correction as I had to make some assumptions. Hope that helps.

So, with that said, how about hooking me up with a few of your KSF mammoths :D

There are GEC ivory knives that are not documented. Extra knives are made every run so that a replacement knife can be offered when needed. One of the owners would ask for a few of the 'extras' to be handled in mammoth, or ivory that he wanted for himself or as gifts to special friends. This was recently explained in another thread.
There also are GEC knives that have been re-handled in mammoth or elephant ivory. The workmanship is excellent and unless told, you would not know that the handles are not the original ones. Are these included in your search ?

I did not know that the Indian River jack came with mammoth handles. Is this from the Shirley days ?

I believe there were a few different releases of the IRJ. It was the 2014 drop that included mammoth. I know it was releases in mammoth, just not 100% which drop. I hope that helps clarify Roland.
