Greetings from SE PA, USA

I joined the forum then right away posted a question before introducing myself. Ooops.
My pocket knife carrying began in 5th grade a half century ago. A Sears Jack. In high school or college I switched to a small single blade lock back.
These days I carry 3: multi tool, small Swiss army and a Benchmade Griptillion. Three distinct jobs. I am a user for sure, not a collector.
I recently got inspired to get a traditional pocket knife. GEC is intriguing as they are located in PA, my home state. And they are top quality. The #66 Calf Roper I bought is an impressive tool.
It is a bit silly but I am trying to justify my return to a non-locking folder. They are a reminder of my past and have such character and just look so right. I guess since I always also have a locking knife I should simply enjoy the traditional knife for all of it's qualities.

Well, Craig, we all here have similar stories. We all recognize it. THE SICKNESS ..... You may as well give in. We understand.
And there is no cure .... except for buying quite a few knives a month .... be strong and post pictures.

Welcome Craig. Yeah start small like with only a couple knife rolls to store your new knives in. Get the ones that hold 60 knives so you don't waste money on small ones that you will need to fill the big ones.____Dave

Steve99f, I am extreme SE PA, not far from DE.
The recent revelation to me about traditional folder pocket knives is how much cutting capability is available in a small package.
You give up single handed opening and locking blades. One reason I bought one is that some cities now ban anything but two hand opening & no lock.
It sure is tempting to want more but I am holding at the few that I now have.
