All About Pocket Knives

Anyone know anything about this Camillus Stockman with an Eagle carrying a snake badge ?

I'd swear I've seen that shield before but I feel pretty sure it wasn't on a Camillus. What keeps rattling around in my brain cage is Parker or Frost or Flying Falcon. Someone will come along and straighten me out. That's not a snake though. It's a banner.

Well Steve C. I have a Craftsman 95021 two blade jack with that same shield. I always assumed it had something to do with Craftsman knives. My knife could very well have been made by Camillus. Thanks for showing yours. Steve B.

AH-HAH! Craftsman!! That's where I saw it. Thanks Steve. Here's another one I found on eBay. It too was made by Camillus.

I think a fella could make an interesting collection of Craftsman knives with just that shield and not go broke gathering them.

How strange. I have a Craftsman knife similar to the black stockman but I was convinced it was a Schrade. Same (brass) shield, same dimensions and frame. I don't recall if it has a pin or if it could be Swinden, but I do remember another knife forum "confirming" it to be a Schrade product.

Could the OP Camillus have been manufactured after Camillus picked up some of Schrade's tooling in the period between Schrade's closing in 2004 and Camillus's in 2007? The knife looks older than that because of patina but it could have just been stored improperly, and the tang stamp is the last one Camillus USA used that I'm aware of.

All I can say is Schrade and Camillus was owned by the same family.It has been shown that Camillis made parts to fill Schrade contracts.
You would have to have the knives in hand to decide if Schrade or Camillus and even than the Schrade could have Camillus made blade.
I have a knife with Craftsman etch on the blade and Imperial tang stamp pins in bolster?

I declared the one I posted a Camillus because of the matchstrike pull. Can't tell from the picture if it has bolster pins or not. What say ye Schrade experts? Did Schrade do matchstrike pulls? From what I can see, the handles look Schrade. Weigh in boys.

To the best of my knowledge Schrade did match stick pulls up until 1974.Mainly on the Schrade Walden tang stamps and did a few on the Schrade NY tang stamps.
