Standard knife

This was a nice sentimental project for me. The person's grandfather found it in his possessions. As you can see in the before pic, it was looking a little worse for wear. Weighing to leave it alone with the fear of the cell gassing out further, I offered to replace the covers with something close to the original, and reprofile the main blade so it would be more usable again. I always cringe with the thought of wiping away years of history in a knife, but the cell was probably going to go sooner than later, so that helped the decision. I'd like to think I did the knife justice, without removing too much of the original character.

I think you did a BEAUTIFUL job. In my humble opinion, old celluloid knives are a ticking time bomb and what you did is the equivalent of disarming the bomb and making it safe to once again be enjoyed and treasured.

Nothing you do surprises me Glenn but it all impresses me. Great job, I bet the grand father would love it.
