What is the difference in #15A and #15 half congress? Also, is this #15A Stainless or carbon?

Wasn't the "A" suffix for "Amber" (yellow Delrin) handles instead of the "bone stag" style handle?

And, I was always under the impression that "Queen Steel" was 440C stainless with the Queen hardening process.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will correct me if I'm wrong.

The "A" was the designation for Amber. Here's Queen's document on the model 15.

According to this old thread, it was 440C up to the early 80s, then they switched to 440A. Since your knife is 1990, that seems to indicate 440A. (I think?)
