Hello everyone. My name is Chris. A recent e-mail from Gr8scout invited me to join in here at AAPK.
My wife thinks I collect knives. I tend to think of it as a "meager assortment" of knives.

I don't collect knives that I'm not willing to use and there aren't many high dollar goodies in the bunch but I do enjoy all types of "users". From Swamp Rat to Spyderco to Schrade Old Timers to Parker Edwards. I can't seem to find a design or patern that doesn't spark some interest.

Heres a couple of my favorites:

Thanks,

Chris

Rupe the real trick is to get your wife to buy you a knife for your B-Day and Christmas....

Try this one !!! take a photo of what you want and stick it on the fridge.

Who knows it mite work for you.

We have a lot of users here we like to call them E very D ay U sers.

From what you showed us you must have been bitten by that knife bug too.

Hi Chris,

Welcome !

You don't have to let the wife see this, but just between us guys & gals,
about how many knives do you consider to be a " meager assortment."

Fran,

That happens to be my wifes name so your post kinda scared me. Thought she might be on to me and my "support groups"

My assortment is only about 30 knives. Most are pocket knives of one form or another. I'll try to get a group photo or a list together. Most are slip joints with a couple newer offerings thrown in for good measure.

Thanks again.

Hey Rupe,

Just 30 huh ? That's about what I had before joining here. Now It's at least double that, and I've only been a member for a few weeks.

Thats my sons name. With an "i". Named after his grandfather.

I expect there will be several more knives added to before the year is out. Already got my eye on a couple.

Chris, thanks for joining.

Guys, here is a little project our newest member helped me with. The centerpiece knife is an Imperial ad knife, advertising Days Work tobacco. I went in search of other Days work things and found the background, which is a metal press used when they packaged the tobacco product to indent the name. Chris painted it for me, a fine, fine, solid job. I added some Schrade Copehagen and Skoal knives, another forum member (thanks, Dale) sent me some Skoal pens and stuff, and there it is.... my knife salute to black lungs and bad teeth. And the efforts of three knife nuts.
