Gentlemen,
I have been lurking for a while now and thought it was time for me to post something, a kind of an introduction
I am fairly new to this sort of thing and learning things all the time

Here is a knife I 'restored' in to a useable condition a couple of years ago

Thanks Scott

So this was back in 2015,
I really wanted to keep the scales, I tried to remove them but was going to damage them :(
As I had no use for the opener I decided to loose that layer

While I had it apart I could see the makers name, I can't remember the maker now but they stopped using that stamp in 1919, so it was made 1919 or before

I made brass liners and it went back together very well

Although I was happy with it, it did not look finished :|
I wanted to fill the gap, If I had used horn it would have looked like a repair,
mmmmm what to use?
I settled on brass...

Nice first round! ::tu:: You do know you're now headed down a road from which there is no return, right? :D

Seems to me the copper bail is a tell as to the possible maker, but can't remember which one.

Welcome to AAPK!

Welcome aboard Sparky.
I see you figured out how to upload your pictures, outstanding. We have plenty of bandwidth to host the pictures here and that's our preference so that people can use our site for research. Most people stop using web hosting services at some point in time and all of the hosted pictures disappear from wherever they have left the link. It's our preference here in AAPK that everyone upload their pictures so that we can see them next year and even 10 years from now.

I don't know if I would call that an introduction to knife repair and restoration are not, that was a full course not just introduction!
Very nicely done! ::tu:: ::tu::

Thanks Orvet,
I loved the scales on that one so was very pleased with how it turned out
This post was more of an introduction to me than my knives :D anyway I thought you might like that one ::tu::

::welcome:: to AAPK! Maybe one of the fellers can identify your knife's maker, I can't quite make out the tang stamp on the blade. Great job!
