All About Pocket Knives

Any of you guys have any idea what year,, decade,, this knife was made ???
It looks nothing like current ones made,, and this one is a formidable knife,,
1/4" heavy thick blade,, stamped United on the front,,and
UC 520 Stainless Steel...Taiwan on the off side...darn good
feeling knife and seems well built, pic of box and stats here to if that helps any

Will: It looks like it is of fairly recent manufacture judging from the box art.

Their current Bowies are completely different shape to the blade,,,and,,
the packaging looks nothing like this,,,all guy knew I got it from was saying this is new old stock
current ones sure are not coming with American made leather sheaths either, its a thick nice sheath
one other I found on ebay is only one I could find anywhere Ray, and he does not know when it was made

Here is my Gill Hibben 898 by United. Don't have a picture of the box.

Now I heard back from the ebay seller who has one of these box and all...
he said it was made in the 1990's...I have no idea,,,,
wish someone could come up with a timeline, I want description correct before I sell it

my "imho" is that without a dated sales receipt it is difficult to put a time line on a knife. even then when did the company start or stop making or selling such items and how many months or years may a item sit in a warehouse or on a store shelf?
