This stockman has a uniqueness
The shield side front brad is out of position has been installed in wrong location
Clear evidence of a mis strike or mistake .
The knives of this era are handmade , I have a gentleman wager with a buddie that it is a error not just the way it is made

Welcome here, Bigfoothillbilly.

That pin was spun on the top of it to finish it. It looks like the spinner slipped off the pin and hit the bone.
We have seen this before.

Not sure what you mean by "brad". Are you talking about the cover pin between the shield and the bolster? If so, It looks okay to me. The holes in the liners through which the pins are inserted are stamped by machine. The same stamping template is used for each pattern, in this case 087. They are not drilled afterward, so placing a pin in the wrong location is not really possible.

In your pictures I see a circle where the pin spinner missed the pin and marked a circle on the bone cover. That's a cosmetic defect but doesn't mean the pin is in the wrong place. Here's a couple of 087s for comparison.

As Ken said above. The pin that is to the right of the Case shield is in the correct location. The tool that is used to spin the head of the pin was used in the wrong location and this resulted in the circular indentation in the bone to the right of the pin. This spinning is a hand operation subject to error and yes, we frequently see this on Case knives.
