All About Pocket Knives

Very curious to learn more about this ka bar stockman, I purchased from one of our very own here back at a show in Abilene

I love the case 75, and this was basically the same frame so I had to have it!

Tried to do my own research, but couldn’t find anything

I did see one old pic of a similar stockman that was sold on eBay awhile back. That’s it

I don't remember seeing any KA-BAR handles quite like this. Bolsters look like steel rather than NSL and if that's the case it could be a WWII era knife. Strange things happened then due to lack of raw material availability.

I was open to maybe being re handle, but I was able to find another that was the same. Which was reassuring

Yes, that is a good sign and good work to find that example. Are the bolsters steel on your knife?

I believe so In regards to steel

Well, that is a WW2 era tang stamp, and I have seen Olcuts with that type of celluloid. Blades appear to have had a fairly heavy cleaning.

Now that you mention it I have seen this material on large OLCUT coke bottles. I think they had this pattern in a blue as well. Cool looking material and nice knife.
