I think this knife qualifies for the category of "just because you CAN make something, that doesn't mean you SHOULD."

The specs are quite right: OAL 12.5" with a 7" blade gives a closed length of 5.5", with a 7" blade ??
Regardless i just cannot understand why make a knife with such expensive materials when it will not improve function ? Rc of 60 is similar to many knives from $30 & up.
I'll take 200 Rough Riders instead.

They way he snaps that blade closed in the video looks to me to be an excellent way to lose one or more fingers.

It sure is a big ole hoss of a knife. You'd need a backpack to carry it around.

The knife is very interesting in terms of the mechanism that allows a blade longer than handle. Looks very spectacular, another question is how stable it will be.
Personally for me this price is impossible, but I'm sure those 100 knives will be bought. No price anymore can surprise me. I have seen auctions for Shirogorov knives prices reaching 5-6 000 EUR.
We'll wait a year or two for the Chinese to steal the model.

Eustace, always interesting to see different thinking and cultures influence on every day items. That knife is a mechanical marvel. I am sure some USA knives would not be a hit in Europe. Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I think impossible is a good word for the price.

aren't kitchen knives also considered to be ordinary knives? just wondering!
