Very nice find! Gents Knife in tortoise, beautifully finished,
silky action, finely worked blades especially the nail file. Tang stamped-
G.NAZER The long nail-nick continues on into a swedge, nice touch!
31 ROYAL Was this knife a gift with a clothing purchase?
MANSE.
Come in S-K. The kick looks mid Victorian I.X.L (?)
This one from the local Girl Scouts Car Boot Sale. I felt a bit guilty with
the price of this one, so I bought 6 jars of Marmalade and a large jar of delicious Lemon Butter.
A knife is not a screwdriver; nor is it a hammer or a pry-bar,
And it will give poor service as such. Alfred Dunhill (adapted).

Hi marcinek, Occasionally I get lucky! But you have to be out there, rain or shine and early.
You wouldn't believe how silky the action is on this one; smooth then snap. I think knife parts were more highly polished in the old days, especially the under side of backsprings

I haven't got any info, but that's a quality knife, and the kick definitely looks old, especially that pen blade.
The scouts should have given you a jar of marmalade, for taking it and preserving it !

That's a beauty
. I really like the sleeveboard pattern. 'Stove pipe' kick on the pen blade indicative of a hand forging. Nice swedge. The long 'French' style nail nick was typical of late 1800s. Pattern was made by a number of Sheffield makers. A real treat. Thanks.
