What exactly is "true" red bone?

I have seen red bone era knives described in different ways such as red bone, chestnut bone, reddish bone, pretty bone, true red bone and so on.

What is the meaning of "true" red bone? Does that mean it is completely red or the right shade of red? Is it an actual grade that can be measured, or somewhat subjective?
