All About Pocket Knives

One of my favorite knives designed by Liong Mah and made by David Deng another friend who owns Reate Knives. Hollow ground S30VN steel blade and flips like a rocket.

Very sleek knife ! Is it a Reate ?
I have been looking online at Reate knives listed on ebay, some priced up to $900. How much difference can there be between a $200 Reate & a $900 one ?
What is model # or name of your knife ?

This model is called the Liong Mah Warrior I and made by Reate. Liong Mah has his own line of knives and he had Reate manufacture these.
Difference between a $200 Reate and the expensive Reate's is the models and materials. Some are integrals and have damasteel blades and Mokuti or Timascus. They flip smooth as butter and are extremely well made knives.

I have recently purchased knives by WE & Real Steel in the 'just under $100' range. They are extremely well made ultra smooth knives. I have been eyeing the more expensive Chinese tactical knives including those made by Reate but do not have the funds to acquire one.
My first quality China made knife was a SanRenMu 710 for $10 delivered. That was 9 years ago and i still carry and use it. I realize it is nowhere near the same league as your Liong Mah but it is hard for me to justify spending 50 - 70 times as much when my $10 knife has done everything i need in the way of cutting. However being sensible is not part of my collecting behaviour and i think your knife looks truly awesome.

WE, Kizer and Real Steel make some excellent knives and have unique designs. They use some excellent steel in their blades such as M390, S30VN and others. I almost bought a SanReMu years ago for a user and it looked to be a quality made knife. I'd say you got a bargain for $10.00 and certainly got your moneys worth after years of use.

Do you know what the connection is between HanWei & Kizer ? Some HanWei knives(China) are also marked Kizer (Russia). I know HanWei has been making very high quality swords & knives for years but "Kizer" is a recently formed company i think.

I really wouldn't know. I know Custom Knife Factory (Russian) uses a Chinese manufacturer for most of their knives. I've owned several and they were really well made.
