I had an old remington daddy barlow, that didn't have a blade, I robbed a blade from a colonial master barlow and it was a perfect fit, the snap is amazing, I used an old nail for the pin, and ground it down with my dremel. Not to brag but it looks pretty good

That's how it starts, my friend !
Pretty soon, you'll find one that needs new handles. Then you'll decide you need a grinder. A little here, a little there and you've got a neat shop... then your friends are bringing you stuff to work on.
Next thing you know, you're attending meetings, at Knives Anonymous.
Congrats on the Remington - It's awfully satisfying, to bring a good one, back to life. Hang on to it !

I was in the jewelry business for several years in the late 80s. We would cast all of our own settings, sand, polish and set the stones ourselves. We did repairs for several of the big retailers in the area. Rebuild prongs; fix chains, watches, you name it. I went to the L.A. jewelry center once a week to buy all the supplies we needed. I loved it! A divorce, and then my partner moving to Kansas put the kibosh on that venture. I was on the verge of becoming a Gemologist when it all fell apart.
All that said to say this; I’m afraid if I get involved in knife repairs there will be no end…………………….but, is that a bad thing!
