Hey everyone, I'm not really new here, just haven't posted yet. I've greatly enjoyed the site and thank everyone for the info and great pictures.

I've got what may be a silly question. I went into a Pawn Shop the other day and found an old case Trapper. The clip blade is original CV but the spey blade is SS. Was this knife made like that or was it sent back to have a SS blade put on it or is this probly something that someone did on their own? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

That is a tough question! For a guy to even guess at something like that, pictures are a must. Better yet, knife in hand. Sorry not much help...........

i wouldnt think it came from the factory like that. if i were to guess, i would guess that there may have been a possible repair done to the knife at some point, either it was sent back to case or more likely, someone did it on their own.

I went into a Pawn Shop ... 8) but I think you did the right thing by asking here first...

Can you take a photo of her in the PAWN shop ?

You also did not say what the price was...If the right price that knife can be a neet user knife.

I passed on the deal. I could get a new one for the same price.

IF IT WAS SENT FROM THE FACTORY THAT WAY I THINK IT WAS A MISTAKE.IF IT WAS SENT TO CASE FOR REPAIR THEY WOULD HAVE MATCHED THE BLADES (I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE)I WOULD SAY SOMEONE DID THAT THEMSELF.
